We made it to May! As we begin to round off the school year I want to say how proud I am of the students at Kennedy. This has been our first year at Kennedy and the students have been absolutely instrumental in building out our unique program here. Our students have shared thoughtful work, passionate opinions, and stories that helped us all to connect. I am so grateful for their willingness to work with me as we move forward together.
May is often a hectic time for both staff and students so in light of that we recently spent time going over the wheels of caring and burnout. We discussed the patterns we all fall into and what questions we need to ask and steps we need to take to help break the cycles. Please see some student examples of what they see as their wheel of burnout along with the questions they see as most helpful for disrupting patterns of burnout.
I want to give a last shoutout to Ashton (12th) who has been Kennedy's sole mentor leader this year. The work they have done has been awesome and we are so proud of them.
As the last mentee shoutout I want to highlight Francisco, who despite transferring mid year has jumped in with enthusiasm and created some amazing work.
As we look back on this year I want to just highlight some of the amazing work these students have done throughout the semester. Please enjoy these bright spots below.
