Over the last month our YESS students at Kennedy have been thinking about what kinds of leaders they want to be and what SEL skills a leader needs to be successful. As we move into Spring, we have been combining our learning on healthy relationships and community to think about how leadership looks and fuctions. For part of their final projects students were asked what kind of leaders they wanted to be. Please see some of their amazing answers below.
We also completed YESS lessons on both boundary setting and accountability. Students were able to expertly make connections between both of these concepts and the SEL skills we have ben discussing all year. Below I have included some of their answers linking accountability and leadership. Their thoughtfulness around these topics is something we could all use more of.

Special shout outs to Alexandra (12th grade) and Vivi (9th grade). Both students consistently challenge themselves to grow and I am so impressed by them both.
As we move into April and the end of the school year we are looking forward to discussing caring and burnout and to continue to interrogate ideas of leadership.
